Classical German Philosophy:  Lectures on Kant’s Practical Philosophy

一、讲座内容简介

什么是善？什么是正义？什么是自由？人类历史是前进的吗？这是任何关怀现实的哲学必须面对的问题。德国古典哲学的开创者伊曼努尔 · 康德回答说：出于道德义务而行动的意志就是善，符合法权命令的行动就是正义，自由是服从理性而诉诸任情感，人类历史是一个从战争和无序，经历培养和启蒙，走向永久和平的过程。

道德，法权和自由是脱离现实的意识形态吗？世界和平是欧洲知识分子的幼稚幻想吗？德国图宾根大学哲学系教授，奥特弗利德·赫费，海德堡科学院院士，德国国家科学院院士，将在这次为期十天的讲座系列里，从当代哲学角度出发，为康德的理性主义和理想主义进行辩护。在理清对康德实践哲学的种种误解的之后，人们会看到：道德、法权和自由是现代文明的基石；只要人性没有发生改变，永久和平会一直作为理想的乌托邦而指引人类的前进。

What is good? What is justice? What is freedom? Is the history of humankind continually moving forward? These are the questions that every philosophy concerning the reality has to face. Immanuel Kant, the pioneer of German classical philosophy, replies: the will acts out of moral duties is good, the action confirms the imperative of rights is justice, freedom consists in obeying the reason rather than appeal to feeling, and the human history is a process moving from war and chaos, through culture and enlightenment, towards perpetual peace.

Are moral, legal rights and freedom the ideology laying beyond the reality? Is the world peace a naive dream of the European intellectual? Otfried Höffe, Professor of the Seminar of philosophy at University Tübingen in Germany, fellow of the Heidelberger Academy of Science, fellow and senator of the German National Academy, will provide a defense of Kant’s rationalism and idealism in this 10-day series of lectures from the standpoint of modern philosophy. After clarification of several misconceptions we will see：Moral, Rights and freedom is the foundation of modern civilization; the perpetual peace will as an idea of Utopia always guide the humankind moving forward, as long as the human nature doesn’t change.

奥特弗利德·赫费，德国图宾根大学哲学系教授，海德堡科学院院士，德国国家科学院院士，在德国古典哲学，伦理学和政治哲学领域有突出成就，在德国以及整个西方哲学界享有极高的声誉。 

Speaker

Otfried Höffe, Professor of the Seminar of philosophy at University Tübingen in Germany, fellow of the Heidelberger Academy of Science, fellow and senator of the German National Academy. His main interest is about German classical philosophy, ethics and Political philosophy, and research results of these areas let him enjoy high reputation in Germany and whole western philosophy academic circles.
